Leo starts a new short series on 2 Peter.
Peter is aware that he is about to die (1:14-15) so he writes to encourage the reader to stick to the Old (prophets) and New (apostles) Testament teaching. He is concerned about being replaced by false teachers who are promoting ungodliness, and whose teaching leads to destruction.
