At Noah’s Ark Preschool, we care about all our children and their families.

By joining our Christian Preschool, you are becoming part of St John’s church family in Buckhurst Hill. Its ethos is to serve the community of Buckhurst Hill and its surrounding area with an early year’s foundation provision that enables each child to grow, develop and learn through play.

Working with children of all faiths, from the age of 2-4 years every child at Noah’s Ark is acknowledged as an individual, where they are nurtured intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually within a loving atmosphere and thus providing a firm foundation to primary school.

Leading a team of 14, you will have management experience, an active faith and be  sympathetic to the beliefs and ethos of a Christian preschool. You will be passionate about ensuring Noah’s Ark provides an emotionally secure, warm, stimulating and safe environment, for all our children who attend.

Our last Ofsted inspection in 2016 was ‘Good’ but we are always aiming to improve – and there remains scope to develop this role and increase hours in the future to meet the needs of our growing pre-school.

As well as having a talent for working with young children, you will enjoy and recognise the role that our key stakeholders play (including staff, volunteers, parents and carers, committee, PCC and the Diocese of Chelmsford’s Early Years Adviser). Being a natural communicator you will maintain and enrich relationships with all to secure the success of Noah’s Ark Preschool.

This term-time only post is currently part-time (6 hours per day including ½ unpaid lunch – 8am-2pm, 38 weeks plus 4 weeks paid holiday.)  You will be paid £11-£12 per hour and you will be supported in your role by an active preschool committee.

We are serious about safeguarding and child protection. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, applicants must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which have been made against them. Our safer recruitment process requires applicants to submit an application form (CV’s not accepted) spend time in the setting and have an interview. Offers will be made subject to a clean DBS, registering for the DBS update service and two good written references which may be followed up by phone.
