29th July – National Citizenship Service volunteers

We have teenage volunteers coming on Saturday afternoon who will be working in our church yard.  We need to have some assistance with supervision and manning refreshments.  If you are able to help for an hour or two that would be great.  Please email Ewan at or call/text 07482 353553.  Pizza will be provided for all who come along.

30th July – Sporty Church

We will be holding our annual, fun-packed “Sporty Church” in the Astroturf area of the Rectory garden (the old orchard), weather

permitting.  For parents of all children aged 10 and below, you will need to stay with your child for this session.  This will be a time of informal and fun family worship.

10th August – Ladies Night

This will be our usual summer offering of Pimms and bingo – why not invite a friend to join us?

Loughton Food Bank

A big “thank you” from Loughton Food Bank to all at St John’s who donated the 8 bags of much-needed items and 2 supermarket store cards.

17th August – Book Club

St John’s Book Club always welcomes new members.  Our next meeting is at 8.00pm on 17th August.  In preparation, we are reading one or more of the following animal-themed books: “H is for Hawk” by Helen Macdonald, “Endal” by Allen and Sandra Parton, and “Gobi” by Dion Leonard.   If you would like a copy to start reading, or would like to join us, please ring 0208 504 6228.
