Children and young people

Our work with children and young people

Our church family includes many children and young people, for whom the following provision is made:

  • Under 3s - a staffed crèche runs in the Fellowship Room from the time that children leave the church for their own activities. Please feel free to stay with your child(ren) or to leave them with the authorised staff members. The crèche is organised by Ali Burton and Beverley Eaton.
  • 3-11 years old - these meet in the Sunday Groups, in 4 separate groups: 3-5s (church hall), 5-7s (church hall), 7&8s (St John’s school), and 9-11s (St John’s school). The Sunday Groups are coordinated by a small team, and follow a Bible-based teaching programme.
  • 11-14s - Pathfinders meet in the St John’s school barn, under the overall leadership of Mags Farley. The Bible is taught in a lively and interactive way, and the Pathfinders also have socials at other times on a regular basis.
  • 14-18s - have their own group, currently meeting on Tuesday nights, which is led by Patrick Coppeard. They also meet socially at other times, usually weekly.

Do also see our information on Messy Church and on our autumn half-term Children's Holiday Club.

Please speak to one of the church leaders if you would like more information about our work with children and young people.

There is also a parent and toddler group , Little Fishes, that runs on Thursday afternoons.
