Reverse Advent Calendar
An amazing 400 items of food were contributed by the St John’s church family. Both the Loughton Food Bank and Mill Grove Foster Home were extremely grateful. Thank you all for your amazing generosity – from St John’s Mothers’ Union.
Rota Volunteers for collecting the lovely Bill
As you will know, Bill loves to join us at the 10.45am service each Sunday but needs a lift to get here. We are in need of more volunteers to collect and return Bill to and from Forest Place care home, Roebuck Lane. It is a pleasure to collect Bill, who will chat and sometimes sing to you on the journey! Please contact the Parish Office on 020 8506 2150 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you are able to support our brother Bill.
2018 Cake Sales
Thank you to everyone who baked and bought cakes and cookies in our sales in 2018. We raised almost £2,300 for different charities and good causes and I am putting a list together for the cake sales for this year. We will continue to give to our regular charities such as the Loughton Food Bank and the Westbrook Holiday bookstall, but if there is a local organisation you know of that needs our help, or if you are fundraising for a particular cause this year, please get in touch. You don’t need to bake for a sale, but it is helpful if you can help to sell the cakes and provide any posters etc to advertise where the funding will go.
The next sale will be on February 10th (no sale in January, everyone is on a diet!)
Many thanks – Jo Coates

Happy New Year to our gardening volunteers! Thank you for all your help in 2018. Tasks to suit all ages, refreshments provided. Please drop in for a while. If weather uncertain on the day, please ring 07885 842342 on the day to check we are going ahead.
