Pastures New

It has been announced that Sarah has been appointed Priest in Charge of the Parish of Brentford.  Sarah, Joel and the children will be leaving around Easter time – we will be very sad to see them all go, she has been great blessing to us and will be a tremendous asset to Brentford.  We all wish her well – details of farewell celebrations to follow.

Joy Barter will be organising a leaving collection for Sarah – envelopes for donations will be available soon.

Raising funds for the Buckhurst Hill Money Advice Service.

£8 per head with Ploughman’s supper included.

Fri 9th Feb – Youth Group Social

We will be making pancakes, as we have done in previous years. The evening will be held at Jacob and Becca’s house at the usual Friday evening session time of 7.30pm-9pm.

Sat 10th Feb – Churchyard Gardening

Many thanks to the valiant few who came to help tidy the Churchyard last Saturday.  Our next working party will be on Saturday 10th February from 9.30-12.30.  Please would you put this date in your diary and see if you can come along to help, even for a short time – we are so fortunate to have a large churchyard, please come along and join in as a much needed volunteer – thanks.

Sun 11th Feb – Cake Sale  

Calling all bakers (and lovers of baked goods!).  We will be holding a cake sale after the 10.45am service to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (especially apt as it is Valentine’s Day later that week).  Please bring your home baked goodies, and money to buy.

 

Mon 12th Feb – Mothers’ Union Meeting

We continue our series of “Live Out Our Faith Through Action” with a talk by street pastor, Ros Sitton.  8.00pm in St John’s Church – all welcome.

Thurs 22nd Feb – Prayer Ministry evenings

Mon 5th March – Parenting with God

6.30pm @ Davenant Foundation School Hall

Davenant have extended an invite to all parents (whether your children are at Davenant or not) to an evening with speaker Gavin Calver (Director of Mission – Evangelical Alliance).  Please join them for an evening of reflecting on the task of raising the next generation with the aim of nurturing “mind, body and spirit”.

Thurs 22nd March – When Faith Gets Shaken

Please join us for this inspirational evening, addressing such questions as “what do you do when your life falls apart?” and “when it feels as if God has left you?”.  Patrick Regan OBE, and Andy Flannagan will be leading the evening.
