5th November – International Justice Mission
In March of this year the PCC voted to support this charity through our tithe giving, we are fortunate enough to have Sek Saroeun – Director of Legal for IJM in Cambodia come to speak to us at both the morning services on the 5th November. You can find more on his story by following the link below

3rd November – Cutting Edge Quiz
We are holding a fund raising quiz night and hope you can join us. We are looking for tables of up to 10 at £10 per head.
We do need to know numbers please as we have professional catering arranged in the form of a pasty, jacket potato and salad. Please bring your own drinks.
Location is St John’s, High Road, Buckhurst Hill, IG9 5RX. Time is 7pm for 7.30 start with food served at half time.. Please note this is one for the ladies too and we plan to say a bit about the ministry and how we spend funds.
To book tickets please speak to Steve York by 26th October so we can finalise catering. Please let us know how many you are booking for and whether you need any vegetarian pasties.

4th November – Churchyard Gardening
Help! We need extra volunteers for Churchyard gardening on Saturday 4th November 9.30-12.30. There are a lot of leaves to sweep up, and it would be good to finish tidying the 21 war graves within our churchyard before Remembrance Sunday. Please do drop in for any amount of time to give the team a hand. Children welcome under adult supervision. Refreshments provided.
Waitrose Green Token Scheme
Waitrose, Buckhurst Hill store has kindly chosen the Commuter Outreach at Buckhurst Hill Station as one of its community support groups for November.
Please remember to ask for some tokens and add them to our box when you are shopping throughout the month, and tell all your friends & neighbours too!

9th November – Holy Spirit Evening
For all those who have been coming to the Alpha courses we have been running, and for anyone else who is interested, we are holding a special event on 9th November at 8pm in the church. There will be a short talk about the Holy Spirit, a testimony and a time of worship, and an opportunity to be prayed for by some of the prayer ministry team. Operation Christmas Child (Shoe Box Appeal)
We will soon (9 November Ladies’ Night) be packing the shoe boxes for this wonderful outreach. If you could pick up a few bits and pieces while you are shopping, we would be very grateful. Gift suggestions: Toys: dolls or stuffed toys (with CE label), toy trucks, ball, etc. School Supplies: pens, pencils, colouring books, etc. Hygiene Items: toothbrush and toothpaste, bars of wrapped soap, flannel. Or if you prefer, cash to pay towards the postage to send these amazing parcels.
