Leaving Collection for Sarah

Joy Barter has kindly been organising the leaving collection for Sarah.  Envelopes to be returned to Joy as soon as possible, if you still need an envelope please speak to Joy this Sunday.  Thank you.

 

PCC Minutes

Minutes of the recent PCC meeting are now available to be read in the Church Office.

 

Sun 11th Feb – Cake Sale 

Thank you to everyone who baked and bought cakes or who donated money last Sunday.  We raised a fantastic £175 which has been paid to the British Heart Foundation.

 

Churchyard Gardening

Many thanks to the volunteers who came to help tidy our Churchyard last Saturday.  We gathered a lot of rubbish and many fallen branches that had been blown around/down in the recent gales, and had a big bonfire in the lower churchyard.  Our next date will be Saturday 24th March – helpers of all ages always welcome.

 

Sun 18th Feb – Church Family Lunch

If you have signed up for lunch, don’t forget to stay and enjoy food and fellowship.  As always, volunteers to help with the shopping, cooking, setting up, etc also welcome – please speak to Lucy Folkes.

 

Thurs 22nd Feb – Prayer Ministry Evening

8.00pm in St John’s church – a time of ministry and prayer together.  Many thanks,  Sarah Guinness

 

Sat 24th February – Soul Survivor (school years 10-13)

Save the date for our trip to Watford for a celebration service, hosted by Soul Survivor.  The minibus will be leaving St John’s Church at 3.45pm and returning at approximately 9pm. You’ll need to RSVP to the email address below and bring some money for MacDonald’s dinner.

Fri 2nd – Sun 4th March – Cutting Edge Men’s Weekend Away

The Academy, Newland Park, Bucks
THEME: MAN ALIVE
Guest Speaker: Randall Staley

This weekend will offer a time of worship, teaching, group activities, personal testimony, quiet time, prayer and fellowship.

The cost is £95 per person and includes everything apart from drinks and snacks you may want to purchase of an evening at the cafe/bar.

Mon 5th March – Parenting with God

6.30pm @ Davenant Foundation School Hall

Davenant have extended an invite to all parents (whether your children are at Davenant or not) to an evening with speaker Gavin Calver (Director of Mission – Evangelical Alliance).  Please join them for an evening of reflecting on the task of raising the next generation with the aim of nurturing “mind, body and spirit”.

Thurs 8th March – Ladies’ Night

7.45pm for 8.00pm in the Mary Cotton Hall. We will be making a simple flower arrangement for Easter.  Please come and join us and bring a friend or neighbour.

 

Thurs 22nd March – When Faith Gets Shaken

Please join us for this inspirational evening, addressing such questions as “what do you do when your life falls apart?” and “when it feels as if God has left you?”.  Patrick Regan OBE, and Andy Flannagan will be leading the evening.
